Abstract

This case collection has been developed primarily for use in university-level business education, particularly in courses and programs dedicated to business development, entrepreneurship, in the intersection of corporate finance and strategic management. The cases can be used at both undergraduate and graduate level, although several of them are particularly well suited to MSc, MBA, and executive education settings in which students are expected not only to apply analytical tools but also to formulate and defend managerial recommendations. They may support classroom discussion, individual assignments, team-based case analysis, financial modelling exercises, and capstone projects. Instructors may use individual cases to illustrate specific concepts, or combine several cases to demonstrate how financial, strategic, and entrepreneurial decisions interact across different stages of organisational development. Three areas of teaching are especially relevant to the collection. First, several cases lend themselves directly to courses on business planning and financial modelling, where students must translate operational assumptions into investment plans, projected financial statements, cash-flow implications, or scenario-based forecasts. Second, the volume addresses important questions in start-up and venture financing, including the evaluation and monitoring of venture-capital-backed companies and the eventual exit of investors. Third, a substantial part of the collection focuses on growth strategy, asking students to identify, compare, financially test, and ultimately recommend different paths toward revenue expansion. In this sense, growth is treated not simply as a desirable business objective, but as a managerial problem involving market choices, organisational capabilities, financing requirements, risk, and implementation.
