Abstract

The aim of this study is to give an introduction to the place and role of Latin America as a world region in interregional relations. Latin America –atthe regional and the state level–has long and deep experiences in being involved in inter-regional cooperation, a new element of global governance. After a short introduction to the phenomenon of interregionalism, the study focuses on the Latin American way of involvement and participation in inter-regional cooperation trying to detect special regional characteristics for deeper understanding.
