A biotechnológia hazánkban = Biotechnology in Hungary

Abstract

A biotechnológia, mely élő vagy élettelen anyagokat változtat meg tudás, termékek vagy szolgáltatások létrehozásáért, a nemzetközi versenyképességet meghatározó alaptechnológiák egyike. A Magyar Biotechnológiai Szövetség által koordinált BNTP (Biotechnológiai Nemzeti Technológiai Platform) 2009-ben határozta meg a biotechnológiai ipar 2030-ra elérendő stratégiai céljait. A szerzők tanulmányukban a biotechnológiai ipar helyzetét, valamint a 2030-ig terjedő fejlesztési célkitűzések alakulását kívánják felmérni, továbbá a szektor működésének, teljesítményének, társadalmi-gazdasági hasznának mérését lehetővé tevő adatok azonosítására vállalkoznak. Áttekintik a hazai biotechnológiai iparról publikált jelentéseket, megvizsgálják a biotechnológiai szektor definíciós lehetőségeit. A szektor üzleti és tudományos indikátorait teljes körben felölelő adatbázis nem áll rendelkezésre, így a 2008 és 2018 közötti időszakra vonatkozó fő teljesítménymutatókat többféle adatforrás (a KSH [Központi Statisztikai Hivatal] által vezetett OSAP [Országos Statisztikai Adatfelvételi Program], a TEÁOR [Tevékenységek Egységes Ágazati Osztályozási Rendszere], illetve cégekre vonatkozó adatokat tartalmazó [Cégfürkész] adatbázis) és módszer alkalmazásával elemzik. Feltételezésük szerint a biotechnológiai célú kutatások tudományos eredményei és a biotechnológiai ipar helyzete között összefüggés mutatható ki, ezért a hazai kutatók biotechnológiai témájú tudományos teljesítményét is vizsgálják. = Biotechnology, which manipulates living organisms or materials to produce knowledge, products, or services is a key technology that contributes to international competitiveness. In 2009, under the coordination of the Hungarian Biotechnology Association, the BNTP (Biotechnology National Technology Platform) defined the strategic goals of the biotechnology industry for 2030. The authors of this study aim to assess the status of the biotechnology industry and the fulfilment of the development goals set for 2030, and also map data that enable the measurement of the sector’s functioning, performance, and societal-economic benefits. Studies of the Hungarian biotechnology industry are reviewed and definitions of the biotechnology sector are explored. Due to the lack of a comprehensive database of the sector’s scientific and business achievements, the key performance indicators for the 2008–2018 period are analysed from multiple sources (National Data Collection Programme led by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community [NACE], and a firm registry database [Cégfürkész]). The authors assume that biotechnology research and industry performance are interconnected, therefore, the scientific output of Hungarian biotechnology research is also assessed.
