István Hetényi, once vice president of the National Planning Board, former minister of finance, university professor, one of the best known Hungarian representatives of the pro fession of economics, once deputy chairman of the Hungarian Economic Association, member of the editorial committee of Public Finance Quarterly, passed away on November 11, 2008.
