Abstract

Tanulmányomban a „hosszú” ’68-as diáklázadások történelmi előzményeit, fő történéseit, társadalmi hatásait és utóéletét mutatom be. Emellett tárgyalom azokat az elméleti problematikákat, melyeket mindezek felvetnek. Fő tézisem: a diáklázadások céljai komplexek voltak, számos emancipatorikus mozzanatot tartalmaztak, de a célok középpontjában a szabadság-egyenlőség-testvériség hármasából elsősorban a szabadság értéke emelkedett ki. Ez kapóra jött a ’70-es évek neoliberális fordulatát levezénylő társadalmi aktorok számára, melyek domesztikálták és a maguk javára használták fel a ’68- as ifj úság szabadságvágyát és ezzel összefüggő államellenességét. Bemutatom továbbá, hogy a lázadásoknak milyen azonos és különböző társadalmi előzményei, vonásai és hatásai voltak Nyugaton és Magyarországon. Elemzem azt is, hogy a ’68-as eszmei, etikai és szellemi hagyaték mindazonáltal igen gazdag és sokszínű, amelyekből a lázadó ifj ak újabb és újabb generációi mind a mai napig táplálkozhatnak. = In my paper I am discussing the historical antecedents, main aims, social impacts and aftermath of the students’ revolts of ’68. I also look into the theoretical problems all these aspects raise. My main thesis is: the students’ riots had complex goals, implied several emancipatory moments, but the focal point of the goals was the value of liberty out of the triad of liberty–equality–fraternity. Th at was of good use to the social actors directing the neo-liberal turn in the ’70s who domesticated and cashed in on the yearning of the youth of ’68 after freedom and their attitude against the state. I also embark on the diff erent social antecedents, features and eff ects of the revolts in the West and in Hungary. I also expound that the ideological, theoretical and ethical legacy of ’68 is rich and varied from which newer and newer generations of the rebellious youth can take nourishment to this day.
