Abstract
Analyses on the performance of enterprises by their size-classes have been emerging since availability of EU statistics. The paper is to provide a view on the exports of the Hungarian enterprises by their size-classes at the beginning of the 2000. Besides national and international statistics, enterprise databases are also analyzed. Conclusions on the export performance by size-classes and methodological issues are drawn. The overall picture on the Hungarian exports is a success story: it has been grown faster than the world export in the period examined. The enterprise level analysis suggests a subtle picture: the exports are concentrated where share of large scale enterprises is dominant. The share of micro and small scale enterprises in the exports is promising. Their share is small but has been increasing.
